In addition to providing entertainment for the community, and a creative outlet for adult musicians who enjoy playing in a band, the Midland Concert Band also provides an educational and service function. The MCB provides music scholarships that are available to Midland County high school students to be used toward band camp, private lessons or toward a new musical instrument. The MCB also provides an opportunity for local 7th grade musicians to participate in our “Outstanding 7th Grader” program, where nominated students rehearse and perform with the MCB during the Spring Concert cycle.
Instruments Needed
Do you have an old instrument lying around? Music? A music stand? Would you like to put it into the hands of a needy student in the Great Lakes Bay region or maybe share it with needy people in Haiti or Ecuador?
